Oil Seeds Oil Pretreatment and pressing Workshop
Pretreatment workshop generally include Cleaning and measuring, Crushing & husking, Husk and kernel separation, Flaking, cooking, pressing and filtration.
Cleaning is very import for the preparation. Larger materials may wedge between the internal components of the equipment causing material build-up, which can lead to corrosion and shorten the life of the equipment and reduce its designed efficiency. More important, grain dust and material build-up presents a hazard for fire. It may require screening to remove large materials, magnets to remove tramp metals, an aspirator to remove the dust load associated with whole oilseeds. The proposal of measuring is to control the capacity of the plant.
Specially for cottonseed: cottonseed winnowing utilizes the suspension velocity difference between seed and impurities, remove impurities with the help of air. The purpose of winnowing is removing light impurities and dust, while also removing some heavier impurities such as stones and clods, which is special cleaning equipment for cottonseed.
Flaking
In the process of flaking, the cell wall of the sunflower seed kernel is damaged under the action of squeezing and rubbing, releasing the oil which is contained in the cell and pressing it into thin slices to shorten the oil flowing path to take the oil out easily during pressing.
Cooking
Cooking's usage are mainly : on the effect of part cells are broken by the flaking , through the swelling and heating, the oil cells fall apart, thereby further destroy the oil cells .which can prompt the protein in the oil seeds fully condensed degeneration , and colloid broken , which can release the highly scattered small oil from the continuous colloid, gathered into larger oil.
Pressing
The main part of the screw press is pressing chamber, pressing chamber is composed of pressing cage and screw axis of rotation in the pressing cage. Its working process is using the shrink of lead of screw axis helical to make the pressing chamber volume continuously reducing and have squeezing effect; Extracted oil flows out from the gap of pressing cage , at the same time to press the residue dreg into crumbs of slices which are discharged from press shaft end.

Solvent extraction: There are three different extraction design for different capacity, rotacel extractor, Loop extractpr and towline extractor.
And solvent extraction workshop mainly inlcude solvent extraction section, desolvent toasting, evaporating and stripping process.
Continuous extraction
Pressed cake is conveyed to feed hopper of extractor by feed screw conveyor, automatic control is set for level of pressed cake, which runs a circle from feed inlet to outlet in extractor, and spray with miscella of descending concentration between inlet and outlet, before entering drain section, spray with fresh solvent again, at last the spent flake discharges from the bottom of extractor, enters spent cake conveyor. The concentrated miscella is pumped to cyclone hydraulic separator by full miscellal pump to remove meal powder, then go into the miscella buffer tank to remove the impurities again.
DTDC desolventizing
This process is used to remove and recycle the solvent in the wet meal, thus maxmum reduce the solvent consumption.
Evaporation, stream stripping
This process adopt two stage evaporation, 1# evaporation and 2# evaporation and steam stripping, all these processes are used to remove and recycle the solvent in the oil.
